the Go Go's-'Let's Get Together' (from the Parent Trap)

'Let's Get Together', was a popular song written for the 1961 Disney film, 'The Parent Trap'. It was sung by teen actress, Hayley Mills and it was written by the songwriting brother team of Robert and Richard Sherman, who also wrote for 'The Jungle Book'. In the motion picture, Hayley Mills sings a duet with herself. This is because she played twin sisters which was a technical feat in the early 1960's. The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 1961 (b/w "Cobbler, Cobbler") and went on to become a top 10 hit, peaking at number eight. The credit on the single read "Hayley Mills and Hayley Mills," referring to Mills singing a duet with herself. The song's success led Mills to record an album, 'Let's Get Together with Hayley Mills', which included 'Let's Get Together' and Mills' only other hit song, 'Johnny Jingo'.
The song was homaged in the 1998 remake of the film as well with Lindsay Lohan singing the title line, and Nobody's Angel performing the soundtrack version. The Go-Go's performed a cover on the 'DisneyMania 5' album in 2007.
